Stress and Anxiety

Anxiety is experienced by almost everybody at some point of time in life and it is a feeling of fear or apprehension in response to certain event or situation. The fast pace of life has made stress and anxiety quite common. Both anxiety as well as stress in certain amounts can be beneficial as these can allow people to remain focused and motivated. But when anxiety and stress get out of hand or become excessive these can adversely affect the normal functioning of individuals.

Causes of Anxiety

There is no single aspect or situation that can be directly linked to causes of anxiety. Research indicates that both environmental as well as physical factors act as triggers and can result in development of anxiety disorders. Research indicates that anxiety may develop from fearful experiences that may occur in the past and these may give rise to unconscious conflicts. Such experiences may cause individuals to experience anxiety attacks in similar situations or situations where they feel threatened.
